Barbara S. Williams, 76, of Allentown, formerly of Lancaster Pennsylvania, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. Born in Pearisburg Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Ervin B. and Margaret (King) Williams. She received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Millersville State Teachers College and a master’s degree in psychology of reading from Columbia University (New York). Before retiring, she was a teacher and reading consultant in the Lindenhurst (New York) School District for twenty years. Barbara began her teaching career in Lancaster Pennsylvania. Her pleasures were her family, friends, students, pets, and good books. Survivors: sister, Betty W. Wessner, Allentown; nieces, Laura DeMaio and husband, Steven, Allentown, Susan Paashaus and husband, Leroy, Whitehall, Mary Ann Belz and husband, Robert, Broomall; great nephews and nieces; great great niece.
