Richard U. Blum, Jr., 63, of Catasauqua, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012. He and his wife, Patricia A. (Stringer), shared a loving marriage for 37 years. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Richard U. and Mary (Samer) Blum, Sr. A 1967 graduate of Central Catholic High School, he retired from Verizon. A very active member of Saint John’s United Church of Christ (Mickley’s), he was a member of the B.I.L.Y. Group, an avid cook and enjoyed making stained glass. Survivors: wife; daughter, Amanda E.; grandson and adopted son, Christian; brothers, Robert, and wife, Robin, Reading, James, and wife, Rita, DE; sister, Maryellen Arndt, Albrightsville; nephews; nieces. Services: 1 PM Friday, Stephens Funeral Home, Inc. 1335-37 W. Linden St. Allentown. Call 12 until service time as well as 6-8:30 PM Thursday. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Memorial Park.
