Joel F. Fenstermaker October 30, 1930 - November 19, 2016

Joel F. Fenstermaker, 86, of Allentown, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016. He was the husband of May R. (Ritter) Fenstermaker. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary September 19th. Joel was born in Allentown a son of the late William J. and Permelia E. (Herring) Fenstermaker.  He retired March 1, 1995 from the department of pretreatment at the Lehigh County Water Waste, Fogelsville. Before that he worked at the Lehigh Valley Dairy as a mechanic for over 30 some years before they closed in 1989. Joel was a member of Nativity Lutheran Church, Allentown. He was a member of the former St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Allentown. Joel was a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps serving during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed bowling, horseback riding and bus trips. Joel was an avid sports fan. He was a loving husband, father and Pop-Pop.

Survivors: Wife; daughter, Linda M. Fenstermaker of Allentown; son, Gary F. Fenstermaker of Harrisburg; daughter-in-law, Allison C. Fenstermaker; grandchildren, Jason K., Kailyn N. wife of Warren Hess, Shayna A., Drew T., Joanne S., and Heather wife of Todd Walp; great-grandchildren, Adelyn K., Uriah K., Makenly D., and Maliya H.  He was predeceased by his son, Larry K., his brothers William and Arlen “Tex” Fenstermaker.

Services:  11:00 A.M. Friday in the Nativity Lutheran Church 4004 Tilghman St. Allentown.  Call 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. in the church.  Interment with military honors will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday in the Cedar Hill Memorial Park 1700 Airport Road, Allentown.  Arrangements by Stephens Funeral Home Inc. www.stephensfuneral.com.
