Kenneth Wm. Bower October 17, 1925 - March 11, 2017

Kenneth Wm. Bower, 91, of Allentown, entered into eternal rest to be with the Lord Saturday, March 11, 2017 in his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was the husband of Gloria M. (Stamm) Bower.  They celebrated their 70^th anniversary February 23^rd. Kenneth was born in Allentown, the son of the late William and Carrie (Laub) Bower. He was a Senior Accountant for the libraries at Lehigh University for 24 years before retiring in 1993.  Kenneth was a Navy veteran having served during World War II. He was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Allentown. Kenneth taught Sunday school for 12 years, oversaw many youth activities and served on the consistory at the church. He volunteered at the Allentown Ecumenical Food Bank and the Soup Kitchen.  Kenneth was a member of the Emmaus American Legion and V.F.W. Post # 2124.  He enjoyed dancing, walking, traveling and had an extensive Elephant collection. Kenneth loved gardening and tending to his flowers.  He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Survivors: Wife; daughters, Stephanie D. and her husband Daniel F. Heffelfinger, Sr. of Allentown and Michele D. and her husband Thomas M. Saladyga of Boyertown; grandchildren, Dan Jr., Trish, Nicole and Tom; great-grandchildren, Danny, Josh, Nancy, Tyler, Audie and Leif.

Services: 10:30 A.M. Saturday in the Emmanuel United Church of Christ 1547 West Chew St. Allentown. Call 9:30 – 10:30 A.M. Saturday in the church. Interment will be in the St. Mark’s Cemetery, Allentown.  Arrangements by Stephens Funeral Home, Inc. www.stephensfuneral.com.
