John E. “Jack” Conwell, Jr. April 11, 1937 - April 20, 2024
John E. “Jack” Conwell, Jr., 87 of Whitehall, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Country Meadows, Allentown. Born April 11, 1937, in Phoenixville, he was the son of the late John E. Conwell and Beatrice (Clevenstine) Conwell. He was a 1955 graduate of Phoenixville High School and attended Temple University. He was the husband of Gloria (Lambert) Conwell. John was an US Air Force veteran and served Distant Early Warning (DEW) Radar and Radome installations and start up, throughout the United States including Hawaii and in Iceland. In addition, he was assigned to a Hospital Medical Group to do Field Intensity Measurements for the Armed Services, studying the Biological Effects of Microwave Radiation. His early civilian career included Worldwide Field Service in the Industrial Weighing and Controls Industry. He was employed for over 30 years with Eaton Corporation (Cutler Hammer in Industrial Electrical Sales.
Survived by wife and daughters Correen Warchola and Christen Cichoski. Three grandchildren; Allison, Justin and Gerard. Sister; Barbara Banner and nephew Michael Banner. He was pre-deceased by his parents and daughter Collen Sullivan.
By his request gravesite services are private. Arrangements by Stephens Funeral Home, Inc. 274 North Krocks Road, Allentown.
