Dr. Anthony Lewis Dimick October 26, 1959 - May 17, 2024

Dr. Anthony Lewis Dimick, 64, of Emmaus, PA, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024. Born in Oak Park, IL on October 26, 1959, Dr. Dimick was an excellent and beloved pediatrician who practiced for 34 years, 19 in the Lehigh Valley from 1997 to 2016.

Dr. Dimick received multiple Patient Top Choice Awards, and his patients (and their parents) spoke about his caring attitude, attentive listening, and going the extra mile for them. He also served on the board of Dream Come True for many years, helping raise funds for chronically ill children so they could realize their dream adventures or get college scholarships.

Dr. Dimick graduated from the University of Colorado Medical School in Denver in 1989. He fulfilled his residency at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University from 1989-1992 and interned at the Children’s Memorial Medical Hospital in Chicago.

Tony, as he was known to all who loved him, became a woodworking craftsman after retiring. When someone admired one of his well-crafted bowls, charcuterie boards, or boxes, Tony would immediately give it to them, often pointing out the flaws that only he could see.  He was an active member of his neighborhood community, serving on committees and when encountering fellow residents on the street he greeted them with warmth and interest.

He was a talented cook, too, expressing his love to friends and family through making savory feasts and pouring excellent wines. Tony was thoughtful and often quiet, but was in his element during celebrations and was the life of the party. In his last year of life, he traveled to Europe for two extended trips, sailing from Norway to Barcelona, and returning for the Christmas season to the south of Italy.

Tony will be missed terribly. He was very kind, generous, humble, and a great listener. He had a quick wit, with a special flare for jokes that his young patients found hilarious.

Tony is survived by his mother Elsa Schimberg Dimick, four siblings: Joshua Dimick (Kimberly); Timothy Dimick (Vivian); Brigham Dimick (Erin Vigneau); and Rachel Allen (Patrick). He was preceded in death by his father Dr. Dean F. Dimick and sister Samantha. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who he loved. Spending time with family and friends was important to Tony.

An open call for the community, friends and family to join in remembering Tony will take place on Wednesday, June 5th from 3:00- 5:00 P.M. at Stephens Funeral Home on 274 N. Krocks Road in Allentown. A time of sharing Tony’s “Life Story” will begin at 5:00 P.M.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dream Come True at: https://dreamcometrue.org/ways-to-give/
