David J. Ritter June 30, 1960 - June 17, 2024

David J. Ritter, 63, of Orefield, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 17, 2024. Born June 30, 1960, he was the son of the late James and Faye (Morrissey) Ritter. He was a lover of the outdoors, wolves, and Harley Davidson motorcycles. He also loved spending time with his daughter and grandchildren.

A 1978 graduate of Louis E. Dieruff High School, he began his career in various construction trades at Spirax Sarco in 1978 as a member of the United Steel Workers Union. He joined IBEW Local 375 in 2002, where he became a journeyman electrician. At the time of his death, he was working as a maintenance electrician at Mancor Industries in Allentown.

He is survived by his daughter, Ashley MacDowell, and his grandchildren, Kylee and Chasyn Callihan and Tyler MacDowell; his sister Karen Ritter (Bob Wolper); his brother Steve (Gail) Ritter; and his niece Jamie (Alan) Carver and grandnieces Madyson and Haylie. He was predeceased by his parents, Faye and Jim Ritter, and by a granddaughter, Emma Brealey.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Stephens Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
