Agnes B. Kuklis August 28, 1931 - September 19, 2025
Agnes B. Kuklis, 94, of Allentown passed away peacefully at Mrs. Bush’s Personal Care Home, Kunkletown PA, on September 19, 2025. She was born in Reading, PA to the late Walter and Carrie (Smolinski) Butte on August 28, 1931. In 1952 Agnes married her loving husband, Frank, and together they moved to Allentown where she worked as an operator for Bell Telephone, a volunteer driver for Mercy Day School, an STM school cafeteria worker and, in later years, was employed by Northeast Field Facts in market research. The job she cherished most and worked tirelessly at was that of being a wife, mother of six children and a fondly renowned “Grandma” to many cherished ones, both young and old. She devotedly cared for her husband through many years of his declining health and eventual death after 46 years of marriage. Agnes was a woman of grace, steadfast faith, and unending love. She enjoyed music and brought joy to many by happily sharing her talent for playing the kazoo right up until the time of her death. Saying the rosary was a daily discipline and she prayed unceasingly. She was a founding member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Allentown. Agnes is survived by her daughters, Kathleen, wife of John Stoner of Decatur, AL, Karen, wife of Francis Kuhn of Lehighton, Mary Bechtel of Saylorsburg, and daughter in-law Yvonne Kuklis of Macungie. Also her sons, Frank Kuklis of Emmaus and John Kuklis (Kim) of Ninilchik, AK. Special friends held dear to her heart include David Bechtel, Doug & Kathy Groff and a host of neighbors and friends. Agnes leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Frank J., her son, Thomas A., daughter-in-law, Deborah A. Kuklis, her sisters, Delores Fox and Dorothy Butte and her brother, Walter Butte. The family extends heartfelt appreciation for the love and compassion shown by our Mrs. Bush‘s Personal Care Home family and Hospice of St. Luke’s. You all care deeply and you love big. Thank you!
