Albert J. “Al: Harnisch August 1, 1930 - October 2, 2021

Albert J. “Al” Harnisch, 91, formerly of Tappan, NY, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Country Meadows in Allentown, PA. Al was the husband of Marie M. (Lux) Harnisch, his wife of 68 years. He was born in Mt. Vernon, NY, the son of Otto A. and Margaret (Kelly) Harnisch. He served as a member of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, then graduated from Cornell University in 1957. Al began his professional career in pharmaceutical sales and later founded World Wide Recruiters, a pharmaceutical sales placement agency. He was a talented baseball player who was invited to try out for the New York Yankees and Brooklyn Dodgers. He played recreational ball well into his sixties. He served for many years as the president of the Youth Athletic Association in Demarest, NJ, as well as of their condo association in Brigantine, NJ.

Survivors: wife; son, Al Harnisch, Jr. (Ann Marie) of Old Tappan, NJ; daughters, Pat Zajac (Joe) of Emmaus, PA, Sue Ann Christensen (Dave) of Harpursville, NY, Carolyn Menzel (Jack) of Richfield, MN; 9 loving grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his sisters, Dorothy Rubino and Margaret Ruggiero.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, October 6th in the St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1040 Flexer Ave., Allentown, PA. A calling period will be held from 9-10am at the Stephens Funeral Home, 274 N. Krocks Rd., Allentown, PA. Interment with military honors will be in the Resurrection Cemetery, 547 N. Krocks Rd., Allentown.
