Angeline R. “Cale” (Caleguire) Montesano October 28, 1922 - February 14, 2021

Angeline R. “Cale” (Caleguire) Montesano, 98, of Country Meadows, Allentown, PA and formerly of Upper Darby, PA, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021 under hospice care at L.V. Hospital, Salisbury Twp., PA. She was the wife of Joseph A. Montesano with whom she shared 61 years of marriage prior to his death in 2011. Born in Baltimore, MD and raised in Shenandoah, PA, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Antonia (Pane) Caleguire. Angeline was a  graduate of Mount Sinai School of Nursing in South Philadelphia. She worked for over 40 years, first as a registered nurse at Mount Sinai Hospital in South Philadelphia which later became Albert Einstein Medical Center, Daroff Division. “Cale” later was the Executive Director for South Philadelphia Medical Group. The family would like to thank the staff at Country Meadows as well as the staff at the hospice unit at L.V. Hospital, Salisbury Twp. for their compassion and thoughtfulness in caring for Angeline.

Survivors: Son: Joseph Montesano and his wife Dr. Lillian Weekes of Zionsville; Grandson: Gregory Montesano and his wife Elizabeth of Hellertown; Great-granddaughters: Emma Joyce and Cecilia Marie. Angeline is also survived by many nieces and nephews and was predeceased by brothers, Ralph Spagolio, Benjamin Spagolio and Patrick Caleguire and by sisters, Catherine Kelly and Rose Michalik. In addition, she was the “Over-bearing Italian Mother” to the late Barry Kelly and Bruce Berr.

Services: 2:30 pm Friday, Mass at St. Thomas More Church, 1040 Flexer Ave., Allentown, PA 18103. Call 1:00 – 2:15 pm Friday in the church.
