Bernadine F. Kernechel June 1, 1939 - January 26, 2026

Bernadine F. Kernechel, 86, of Allentown, passed away Monday, January 26, 2026, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Jon H. Kernechel. Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Bertha (Cope) Millington. Bernadine was a graduate of Allentown High School, class of 1957. She was an operator and engineer for Bell Telephone/Verizon for 38 years before retiring in 1995. Bernadine attended regularly at Faith Church, Trexlertown. She was a member of Cetronia Senior Center and Clifford Park Seniors and a former Lioness in Emmaus. Bernadine was the beloved matriarch. Her greatest joy was her family.

Survivors: Sons: Kevin J. Kernechel (Lisa) of So. Whitehall Twp, Eric D. Kernechel (Valerie) of Emmaus; Daughter: Tasha E. Japak (Anthony) of Englewood, FL; Grandchildren: Chad Kernechel, Tyler Kernechel (Ashley), Macie McGaughran (Michael), Logan Teats, Jaiana Rivera; Step-grandson: Mickenzie Lueth (Madison); Great-grandchildren: Marlee, Maximus, Nox, Nolan, Lane, Dana, Milo; Brother: James Millington (Delores); Sister: Doris Young (Brooke); Sister-in-Law: Marjorie Millington. Bernadine was predeceased by her brothers Robert and Richard.
