Bernard M. Steber February 2, 1932 - October 25, 2023

Bernard M. Steber, 91, of Allentown, died surrounded by family at home Wednesday, October 25, 2023. He was married to Mary Carol (Boyle) for 60 years. Born in Lansford (Carbon County), he was a son of the late Michael J. and Anna (Porvaznik) Steber. He was manager of employee communications at PP&L for a number of years before retiring in 1993. Bernie previously worked for the Philco-Ford Corp. in Ft. Washington (Bucks County), The Morning Call (Lehighton, Bethlehem and Allentown offices), and the former Lansford Evening Record. He was a graduate of the former Lansford High School and Penn State University. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Allentown, where he was a former cub master of its Cub Pack 439 for several years and adviser to its Boy Scout Troop 439. Bernie was a former chairman of the Minsi Trails Council public relations committee and was league manager in the Hamilton Park Baseball organization for several years. Survivors: wife; daughters, Annmarie, Bethlehem, Michele Matheis and husband, Brett, Washington NJ; son, Christopher, Baltimore MD; brother, Michael and wife, Mary, Liverpool NY; nieces and nephews. Bernard was preceded in death by sister, Jean Henning, and two infant brothers. Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM Friday in church, 1040 Flexer Ave. Call 10 AM until Mass. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME, INC.
