Bette J. Kramm July 31, 1941 - January 18, 2023

Bette J. “Betsy” Kramm, 81, of Whitehall, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023. She and her husband, Wayne F. Merkel, celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary. She was also the wife of the late Mathew M. Kramm, Jr. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Robert Lawrence and Elsie (Moyer) Naus and was a member of St. John’s UCC – Mickleys where she volunteered with the Whitehall Food Pantry. Betsy was employed at Rodale Press then became the owner of the Bette J. Kramm Store in the Richlandtown Mall. A volunteer at the Allentown Art Museum, she enjoyed quilting, gardening, needlepoint, and costuming for the Guthsville Playhouse, Allentown, and was a member of various quilting and needlepoint organizations in the Greater Lehigh Valley. Survivors: husband; son, Mathew III and wife, Anna M., San Antonio TX; daughters, Victoria Jennings and husband, Michael, Osyka MS, Jennifer Rowe and husband, Derek, Northfield NJ; sister, Susan Dengler and husband, H. Lee, Goshen IN; sister-in-law, Nyda J. Naus Muschlitz, Allentown; six grandchildren; one great granddaughter; nephews; nieces; cousins. She was preceded in death by brother, David L. Services: 10:30 AM Friday at STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 274 N. Krocks Rd. Allentown. Call 9:30 AM until service time. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery.
