Carol Jean Solomon April 7, 1954 - November 9, 2025
Carol Jean Solomon, 71, of Allentown, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025, with her family by her side. Born and raised in Phoenix, AZ, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Lucille (Denault) Vogel. Carol was the wife of Terrence L. Solomon, with whom she was married for 48 years. She graduated from Sunnyslope High School in Phoenix, AZ.
Carol spent her younger days exploring the beautiful mountains of Arizona and enjoying her childhood surrounded by her large family. A devoted wife, mother, and Grammy, she took joy in passing down many family traditions that they will continue to carry on. She shared her love of softball with her daughters, and served as Head Coach. Some of her most treasured moments in recent years were spent with her grandchildren.
Carol retired from Agere Systems in 2006 (formerly, Mountain Bell, Western Electric, AT&T, and Lucent). She held numerous positions during her 33 years with the company, retiring as Chief Union Steward. Carol was a devout Catholic, and a long-time member of St. Francis of Assisi in Allentown, PA.
In addition to her husband, Carol is survived by her Daughters: Theresa Conrad (Jamie) and Catharine Knute (Arthur); Grandchildren: Benjamin, Jack, and Oliver; Siblings: Chuck Vogel, Daryl Vogel, Darlene Raymond, Jerry Vogel, Mary Wetenhall, Bill Vogel, Steve Vogel, Jim Vogel, and Debbie Vogel; along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Bob Vogel.
All are welcome to attend a Catholic Funeral Mass on Friday, November 21, 2025 at St. Francis of Assisi, 1046 Cedar St. Allentown, PA 18102 at 10:30AM. A calling hour will be held at the church prior to mass, from 9:30-10:30AM. An additional calling hour will also be held at Heintzelman-Stephens Funeral Home, 274 N. Krocks Rd. Allentown, PA 18106 on Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 5:00-7:00PM.
