Catherine V. Frankenfield August 11, 1944 - August 9, 2018

Catherine V. Frankenfield, 73, of Allentown, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Kurt W. Frankenfield. They celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary last October. Catherine was born in Hazleton a daughter of the late James and Theresa (D’Amico) Bognet. She was a Lab Technician for the Lehigh Valley Hospital for 35 years and College Heights OBGYN for 10 years before retiring. Catherine was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Allentown. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed shopping and baking with her sisters. Most importantly she cherished spending time with her family, sharing her wisdom, and celebrating with loved ones.
Survivors: Husband; Son, Jason R. Carty and wife Lisa Carty of Pennsburg; grandchildren William, Noah, and Ella; Step Son, Harry Carty and wife Rosann of Sicklerville NJ; grandchildren April and Kim; Step Son, Bryan Frankenfield and wife Lisa of Northampton; grandchildren Gavyn and Lillian; Step Daughter, Jennifer Frankenfield of Lehighton; grandchildren Taylor, Peyton, and Jordan. Brothers and Sisters in law, Rocco and Virginia Bognet, Mary Ann Katrishen, Florence and George Hayden, Attorney Frank and Lea Bognet, James and Patrice Bognet, Michael and Colleen Bognet, Dr. Joseph and Debra Bognet, Jeff and Sally Frankenfield, Peggy and Raymond Gencarelli, Frank and Kelly Frankenfield; her beloved goddaughters, many nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends. She was predeceased by her Father and Mother in law Curtis and Margaret Frankenfield, first husband Robert Prutz, second husband Harry Carty, Sister and brother in law – Caroline and Joseph Zenon, Brother in law – Robert J. Katrishen, Sister in law and brother in law, James and Emma (Betty) Magown, Nephew John Lewis Bognet, and Step Grandson Ryan Carty.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Catherine at St. Thomas More Church, 1040 Flexer Avenue, Allentown, Tuesday, August 14th at 11:00 A.M. Call 9:30 – 10:45 A.M. in the church. Interment will be in the Most Precious Blood Cemetery, Hazleton at the family’s convenience.
