Charlotte Kathryn Kercsmar, 88, of Allentown, passed away on Saturday, March 16th 2024 at Luther Crest. She was born in Pottsville to the late Kathryn (nee Schuetrumpf) and Charles Weaver. She was a 1953 graduate of Allentown High School and was married to Joseph Kercsmar for 45 years before his passing in 1998. Charlotte owned and operated Charlotte’s Daycare/Preschool for over 40 years in her home in Allentown. She felt privileged to have nurtured hundreds of children sharing God’s world through the arts, theater, music, ceramics for every holiday, and many outdoor activities. Later in her career she cared for only teachers’ children which allowed her to spend more time with her grandchildren during the summers. Charlotte was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Allentown where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, played in the bell choir, taught Vacation Bible School and served as one of the first women on Church Council. When St. Stephens closed she became an active member of Nativity Lutheran Church, Allentown. Charlotte was a loving Mom, a very talented seamstress, a Grandma who went to all her grandchildren’s activities and was blessed to become a Great-Grandma 11 times.
