Cheryl M. Hausman July 1, 1948 - August 14, 2025
Cheryl M. (Cichello) Hausman, 77, of Allentown, passed away on August 14th in Fellowship Manor. She was the wife of Donald A. Hausman, Jr. for 57 years, prior to his death earlier this year. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Carmela and Richard O. Hanzlik. Cheryl was a 1966 graduate of William Allen High School.
After many years of staying at home to raise her children, Cheryl worked at Hess’s Department Store in Allentown in the administrative offices for many years. Cheryl eventually retired after working for Lehigh County as the administrative assistant at Juvenile Detention.
She was a lifetime member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Allentown. Cheryl volunteered in various positions including Sunday school teacher, Eucharistic minister, altar guild, and sacramental deacon. Cheryl enjoyed baking for the coffee hour after church and for Cookie Capers, providing baked goods for shut-ins. She also volunteered many years as the church’s representative for Lehigh Mission District Ingathering. Her greatest pleasure came from singing in the church choir, both as a child and as an adult.
Chery was an especially gifted cake decorator, having made countless birthday, wedding, and special occasion cakes for family and friends. Her Christmas cookies were legendary! Cheryl also loved to read, garden, arrange flowers, embroider, and create stained glass projects. She enjoyed taking trips, especially to the beach, and attending Iron Pigs games as a season ticket holder.
