Cornelia Cano Almonte December 20, 1936 - November 28, 2025

Cornelia Cano Almonte, 88, of Allentown, passed away on
Friday, November 28, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in the Dominican Republic on December 20, 1936, she
was the daughter of the late Juan Cano and Francisca
Almonte. Cornelia loved God and was a devout believer up
until her last days. Cornelia was a very hardworking woman;
she worked very hard to support herself and her family while
she was in the Dominican Republic. Her proudest moments
were being a mother and a grandmother. In her spare time,
Cornelia loved playing dominoes with family and friends.
She also loved flowers, and was very dedicated to caring for
her own garden; but what made her happiest was to be
surrounded by her loved ones. Cornelia also loved her
morning coffee, and never started her day without a fresh
cup.
Cornelia is survived by her children, Lucia Acosta, Milagros
Acosta, Ana Pena/Santiago Pena, Ana Acosta, Pedro
Almonte, Hector Almonte, Blas Acosta. Siblings, Juana Cano,
Eustaquio Cano, Felipe Cano, Felipe Cano, and Juan Cano.
Grandchildren, Diana, Carmen, Anaida, Miguel, Alan, Velka,
Kenia, Paola, Madelin, Marlenys, Jadeth, Yuliana, Yulissa,
Isabel, Alberto, Wenifer, Porfirio, Jose, and great-
grandchildren, Aidan, Nadia, Olivia, Mawaldy, Waldy, Wally,
Diana, Aschlly, Damian, Anaibelka, Skylynn, Kayleen, Marvin,
Yasmeiry, Zadiel, Nairobi, Greuriel, Dahianna, Elisaul and
Elianny. Great-great grandchildren, Raiden. She was
predeceased by her children, Petronila Acosta and Porfirio
Acosta, her brother Felix Cano, her grandson Eliezer
Chevalier and great-grandson Adrian.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 3,
2025 at 11:00 AM, at Heintzelman-Stephens Funeral Home,
274 N. Krocks Rd., Allentown, PA 18106. A calling hour will
be held prior to the service, from 10-11AM.

Cornelia Cano Almonte, de 88 años, de Allentown, falleció el
viernes 28 de noviembre de 2025 rodeada de su querida
familia. Nacida en la República Dominicana el 20 de
diciembre de 1936, era hija de los fallecidos Juan Cano y
Francisca Almonte. Cornelia amaba a Dios y fue una devota
creyente hasta sus últimos días. Cornelia fue una mujer muy
trabajadora; trabajó arduamente para mantenerse a sí misma
y a su familia mientras vivía en la República Dominicana. Sus
momentos más orgullosos fueron ser madre y abuela. En su
tiempo libre, Cornelia disfrutaba jugar dominó con familiares
y amigos. También amaba las flores y se dedicaba con
esmero al cuidado de su propio jardín; pero lo que más la
hacía feliz era estar rodeada de sus seres queridos. Cornelia
también amaba su café matutino y nunca comenzaba su día
sin una taza fresca.
Cornelia deja en vida a sus hijos: Lucía Acosta, Milagros
Acosta, Ana Peña/Santiago Peña, Ana Acosta, Pedro
Almonte, Héctor Almonte y Blas Acosta. Hermanos: Juana
Cano, Eustaquio Cano, Felipe Cano, Felipe Cano y Juan
Cano. Nietos: Diana, Carmen, Anaida, Miguel, Alan, Velka,
Kenia, Paola, Madelin, Marlenys, Jadeth, Yuliana, Yulissa,
Isabel, Alberto, Wenifer, Porfirio, José; y bisnietos: Aidan,
Nadia, Olivia, Mawaldy, Waldy, Wally, Diana, Aschlly, Damián,

Anaibelka, Skylynn, Kayleen, Marvin, Yasmeiry, Zadiel,
Nairobi, Greuriel, Dahianna, Elisaul y Elianny. Tataranieto:
Raiden. Le precedieron en la muerte sus hijos Petronila
Acosta y Porfirio Acosta, su hermano Félix Cano, su nieto
Eliezer Chevalier y su bisnieto Adrián.
El Servicio Fúnebre se llevará a cabo el miércoles 3 de
diciembre de 2025 a las 11:00 a.m., en Heintzelman-Stephens
Funeral Home, 274 N. Krocks Rd., Allentown, PA 18106. La
hora de visita se realizará antes del servicio, de 10:00 a 11:00 AM.
