Daniel Smith July 21, 1950 - September 27, 2021

Daniel Smith, 71, of Orefield, passed away Monday, September 27, 2021 in the home of his sister Diane Conley of Lenhartsville surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Carol (Johnson) Burrell-Smith. Danny was born in Allentown a son of the late David O.E. and Thelma (Reichelderfer) Smith. He was a graduate of Parkland High School Class of 1968. Daniel served as a sergeant in the United States Army. He was employed as a union technician for Mack Trucks for many years before retiring in 2009. Danny was a professional carpenter for his company Daniel Smith Construction. He was a lifelong member of Jordan United Church of Christ, Allentown, where he enjoyed mowing the grass.  Danny was a member of the Skunk Club and the East Penn Jeepers. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, birdwatcher and outdoorsman. He will truly be missed by his family and friends.

Survivors: Daughters, Amy Dorward and her husband William of Kutztown, Sarah Rau and her husband Jeffrey of Fogelsville, Jill Smith of Allentown; step-son, Michael Burrell and his wife Nicole of Coplay; step-daughter, Kim Gutowski and her husband Paul of Littleton, CO; brother, David Smith and his wife Nancy of Allentown; sisters, Diane Conley and her husband Donald of Lenhartsville, Sandra DiGloria of Allentown; grandchildren, Zoe Rau and Avery Dorward; step-grandson, Graham Burrell; nephews, Ryan Smith and his wife Julie and Aaron Smith and his wife Roxanne; nieces, Michelle Ellerman and her husband John and Melissa Conley and her fiancé Frank Mohr; companion, Margaret Johnson and her daughter Emily Mae Johnson of Germansville.

Services given by the family: 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 4th in the Jordan United Church of Christ 1837 Church Road, Allentown. Friends and family may call from 12:30 – 2:00 P.M. Monday in the church.
