Dolores H. Furlong November 22, 1932 - June 15, 2021

Dolores H. Furlong, 88, of Allentown, passed peacefully on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, in Devon House Senior Living, Allentown. She was the wife of the late John J. Furlong. Dolores was born in Allentown, a daughter of the late Russell and Marie (Heydt) Dilcher.  She was an executive secretary for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the Department of Probation and Parole for 18 years before retiring in 1996. Dolores was a devout catholic who enjoyed participating in bible studies.  She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Allentown. Dolores volunteered at the Sacred Heart Hospital for over 20 years. She enjoyed walking, dancing, and playing UNO. She was an avid reader. She was also an excellent seamstress. Most importantly she cherished the time she spent with her family especially their holiday gatherings and picnics. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a loyal and trusted friend.

Survivors: Son, John J. and his wife Sharon M. Furlong of Northampton; daughters, Coleen M. the wife of the late Alaric J. Gayfer of Allentown, Jenny A. and her husband Nelson P. Penã of Brick, NJ, sister, Bernadette the wife of late G. Robert Erie of Center Valley; granddaughters, Courtney A. and her husband Michael Reeves, Brianna A. Gayfer, Julia A. and Valerie A. Penã; great-grandchildren, Jameson and Harper Reeves.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 P.M. Thursday, June 17th in the St. Thomas More Catholic Church 1040 Flexer Avenue Allentown. Call from 12:30 – 1:30 P.M.
