Doris R. Balzer November 22, 1942 - March 27, 2024

Doris R. Balzer, 81, of Center Valley passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024, in the Hospice House of the VNA of St. Luke’s. She was the wife of Gerard H. Balzer, Jr. They were married in 1987. Doris was born November 22, 1942, in Norfolk, VA, a daughter of the late Merritte T. Reed and Lois Burch Reed. She attended the United Wesleyan College, Allentown. Doris was employed as the Chief EKG Technician at Sacred Heart Hospital before retiring after 50 years of service. Doris was a dedicated and devoted sister that enjoyed spending time with her siblings and sister-in-law. She simply adored them, and enjoyed spoiling them. She would travel long distances from Pennsylvania to visit them in Virginia up until 2021. Doris faithfully cared for her sister and brother till they passed. If she couldn’t travel to care for them, she was on the phone looking after them. Doris will be remembered as a very caring and loving person.

Survivors: Husband; sister-in-law, Vivian Reed; many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her siblings Merritte Reed, Jr. and Vivian Reed Moore.
