Dr. Jack A. Henriquez September 12, 1945 - July 22, 2025

Dr. Jack A. Henriquez, 79, of Allentown passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, surrounded by family and friends. He was the husband of the late Patricia J. (Schwartz) Henriquez. Born on the Caribbean Island of Curacao on September 12, 1945, Jack was the son of the late Hector Henriquez B. and Gladys S. Henriquez. He graduated from Peter Stuyvesant High School in Curacao in 1964, and Temple University School of Pharmacy in 1969, where he met the love of his life, his wife Pat. After a brief stint operating a pharmacy in Curacao, Jack returned to Temple for medical school, graduating in 1974. An American Board-Certified Emergency Medicine physician, Jack worked at the Lehigh Valley Hospital Center from 1974 until 1992. Jack and Pat then moved to Lake Norman near Charlotte, NC where he continued practicing medicine for 10 more years, including as a cruise ship doctor. Jack & Pat returned to Allentown in 2002, where they lived for the rest of their lives.
Jack and Pat loved traveling the world together, visiting places such as Alaska, Australia, China, Vietnam, Africa, Canada, Central & South America, and Polynesia. Jack loved dancing to live Latin music. He was an avid stock market follower, had recently taken up pickleball, and enjoyed reading medical journals. He loved spending time with friends and family and was a beloved “Opa” to his four grandchildren.

Survivors: sons, Eric W. Henriquez of New York City, Ryan S. Henriquez and his wife, Jennifer of Brooklyn; grandchildren, Jack, Emerson, Roma & Harlow; predeceased by siblings Hector Henriquez, Jr. and Marlene Brandao.

Service: A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., 274 N. Krocks Road Allentown. Family and friends may visit from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Saturday, in the funeral home. A time of fellowship will follow the service.
