Dr. Robert M. Saks December 15, 1943 - February 22, 2023

Dr. Robert M. Saks, 79, of Coopersburg passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. He and his wife, Nancy M. (Ernst) Saks, celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary last June. Bob was a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School Class of 1961, King’s College in Wilkes-Barre Class of 1965, and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) Class of 1969. As a board-certified physician, he practiced family medicine and medical hypnosis at his office in Center Valley for 32 years before retiring in 2003. Bob was the host of Project Healing Waters and a member of the Dream Mile Club (Blakeslee), Trout Unlimited, Eagles Pool Club, and Big Boulder Ski Patrol. Having never met a hobby he didn’t like, Bob’s living room bookshelf told the tale of countless interests including: fly fishing, dog training, small game hunting, skeet shooting, playing pool and guitar, photography, water and snow skiing, sailing, tennis, and magic tricks. He enjoyed sharing his love of all of these, but most importantly loved spending time with his family, friends, and beloved German Shorthaired Pointer, Jackie.

Survivors: Wife; Sons – Scott R. Saks and his wife Melissa of Katonah, NY, and Brett M. Saks and his wife Jennifer of Bainbridge Island, WA; Daughter – Kristin F. Honsel and her husband Jason of Middletown, DE; Grandchildren – Cameron, Noah, Zoey, Caleb, Carter, and Piper; Nieces, Nephews, Cousins; and Loyal Pup – Jackie. He was predeceased by his parents William J. Saks and Josephine (Sorrentino) Saks of Allentown and his brother Dr. William J. Saks of Watkins Glen, NY.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 A.M. Saturday, March 4, at Assumption BMV Church 4101 Old Bethlehem Pike, Bethlehem. Friends and family may call on Friday, March 3, from 6:00–8:00 P.M. at Stephens Funeral Home, Inc. (274 North Krocks Road, Allentown, PA) and Saturday, March 4, from 8:30–9:30 A.M. at the church. Interment will be in the Resurrection Cemetery, Allentown, PA, immediately following the service.

Contributions in lieu of flowers: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Assumption BMV Church.
