Edward E. Roth November 6, 1934 - November 24, 2023
Edward E. Roth, 89, of Salisbury Twp., passed away Friday, November 24, 2023, in his home. He was the husband of the late Sally L. (Esser) Roth who passed away in February 2022. Born in Catasauqua, he was a son of the late Earl J. and Grace (Mohrey) Roth. Edward received his bachelor’s degree from Kutztown State College and his master’s degree from Lehigh University. He was an Elementary School Principal in the Parkland S.D. for 19 years and was with the Parkland S.D. for more than 26 years before retiring in 1993. Previously, he was an Elementary School Teacher in the Allentown S.D. for 9 years. Mr. Roth was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, Emmaus, for over 50 years. Post retirement, Edward went to Culinary School, volunteered at several nursing homes and assisted with high school student tours throughout the NE USA. He played for the Allentown Patriots Old-Timers for many years before retiring from the team at age 82. Edward (“Papa”) loved to attend all of his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.
Survivors: Sons: Christopher L. and his wife Anne of Bethlehem, Michael S. of Raleigh, NC, Timothy P. and his wife Jennifer of Center Valley, Douglas E. of Allentown; Grandchildren: Matthew, Michelle Cox and her husband Nicholas, Emily, Paul and his wife Samantha, Thomas, Nicholas; Great-grandson: Leighton; Sister: Dorothy M. Eriksen of Bradenton, FL. Edward was predeceased by his brother Gerald J.
Services: 3 pm Thursday, Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 3461 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., Emmaus PA 18049, with a visitation from 2 – 3 pm Thursday in the church. Arrangements by Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., www.stephensfuneral.com.
