Elizabeth Ann Schattner July 24, 1934 - September 4, 2023

Elizabeth Ann Schattner, 89, of Allentown, passed away Monday, September 4, 2023, in the Hospice House of the VNA of St. Luke’s, Upper Saucon Township. She was the wife of the late Jan B. Schattner. Elizabeth was born in West Reading, a daughter of the late Harold G. and Elsie A. (Webber) Seyler. She was employed as an Elementary School Teacher for the Allentown, Governor Mifflin and Parkland School Districts for 30 years before retiring in 1992. Elizabeth volunteered at the Lehigh Valley Hospital for many years. She loved her dogs. Elizabeth’s family would like to thank the staff of the Hospice House for all the loving care, kindness and concern they showed to them during this difficult time.

Survivors: Son, Phillip J. Schattner of Breinigsville; daughter, Lisa A. Foreback and her husband Raymond L. of Kutztown; grandchildren, Sara R. Nygren, Jonathan Schattner, Elise McCauley and Lee Foreback and three great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her brothers John H. and David A. Seyler.

Services: A graveside service to celebrate the life of Elizabeth will be held Saturday, October 21st at 10:00 A.M. in the Spies Cemetery 318 Spies Church Road, Reading. Arrangements by Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., Allentown. www.stephensfuneral.com.
