Frederick R. Handschue August 28, 1928 - September 25, 2018

Frederick Russell Handschue, 90, formerly of Allentown, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018 in Heather Glen Senior Living, Allentown.  He was the husband of the late Lois M. (Hunsicker) Handschue. They were married for 57 years. Frederick was born in Allentown a son of the late Russell and Josephine (Laub) Handschue. He was a superintendent for the former Robert Tauber, Inc. Masonry and before retiring he was employed in the Masonry Division of Duggan & Marcon for more than 30 years. Frederick’s favorite saying was that he was a “Burnt Clay Artist” when people ask what he did in lieu of saying he was a bricklayer.  Frederick served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Trexlertown. Frederick was known for always handing out hard candy when he had visits at doctors, other appointments or church. He enjoyed traveling with his wife until she passed away 10 years ago. They visited 48 of the 50 United States.

Survivors: Son, Robert A. husband of Deborah Handschue of Lower Macungie; granddaughter, Heather.

Services: 10:30 A.M. Friday in the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc.  274 North Krocks Road, Allentown. Call 9:30 – 10:30 A.M. Friday in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Allentown. www.stephensfuneral.com.
