George H. Heffner January 6, 1929 - September 26, 2024

George H. Heffner, 95 passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024.  He was the loving husband of Lois (Clader) Heffner with whom he shared 71 years of marriage on May 16th.  Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late George Jacob Heffner and Helen (Baus) Heffner and was grateful to be raised for many years by his grandparents Irvin and Caroline Baus of Allentown.  George proudly served his country in the United States Army Engineers in Germany for 3 years and one year in Korea.

He retired from Bell Atlantic (Verizon) where he worked as a Communication Serviceman.  He had previously been a member of Dubbs U.C.C. Church for 40 years where he was on the Consistory.

George was a very talented woodworker and made many items for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Survivors: Wife, Lois, daughters Jan Heffner of New Mexico, Jill Shouldice and husband Rod of British Columbia, sons, Jason Heffner and husband Dr. John Davis of Massachusetts, Jeffrey Heffner (deceased) and wife Cindy of Coplay, sister, Dolores Meitzler, sister-in-law, Viola Bolen, grandchildren Matthew, Rebecca, Tristan, RoseAngela, Kaspar, and Adrianna.  He was predeceased by sisters Catherine and Bettie, and a brother James.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 3:00 PM, at Stephens Funeral Home, 274 N. Krocks Rd. Allentown, PA 18106.  A calling hour will be held prior to the service from 2:00-3:00.
