Jack R. (John) Ellstrom, Jr. May 8, 1953 - December 22, 2025
Jack Ellstrom, 72, of Macungie, entered into the presence of the Lord on Monday, December 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Jack will always be remembered for his kindness and willingness to help those in trouble or need, even strangers. Jack was a Care Bear! He was the cherished husband of Debra (Martnick) Ellstrom and a devoted father, grandfather and friend. Born on May 8, 1953, in Devon, Chester County, Jack was the son of the late John R. Ellstrom, Sr., and Arlene M. (Shelly) Ellstrom. He was a graduate of Randolph-Macon Military Academy. Jack owned and operated Distinctive Tile & Stone in Allentown. He pursued many passions and careers, including working as a radio DJ, pilot, published author, and studio musician, where he played bass guitar and drums. Jack was an accomplished chef, owned his own radio station and greatly enjoyed traveling. He loved music of all genres and played his bass guitar for hours every day. Jack was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Lower Macungie.
Survivors: In addition to his wife, Deb; sons, Eirik Breininger of Allentown, Nathan Breininger and his wife, Steffanie of Coplay; brothers, George O. Ellstrom and his wife, Amber of Silver Spring, WI; sister, E. Patricia Bashaw of Palo Alto, CA; grandchildren, Isaac, Eli, Zoe, Bea, Holden.
Service: A memorial service will be held 2:30 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2026 at the Heintzelman – Stephens Funeral Home, P.C., 274 N. Krocks Road Allentown. Family and friends may pay their respects from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home Saturday. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at www.heintzelmanstephens.com.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
