Janet Ellen Young January 20 - January 17

Janet Ellen Young, a West End girl, was born on January 20th and passed away on Saturday, January 17th, 2026, in Allentown. She was married to Jon Anthony Young for 35 years this past January 12.

She was predeceased by her parents, James E. and Ruth D. (Seidel) Reese, and many furry friends. In addition to her husband, Jon, Janet is survived by her brother, David Reese and his wife, Peggy, also, dear friends, Lucy and Helen.

Janet was a graduate and alumna of Ursinus College and the former Kutztown State Teacher’s College. She was a much loved elementary librarian with the East Penn School District for 32 years. She was also employed by Lifetouch School Studios before and after retirement.

She will be remembered for her happy soul, easy laugh, intelligent mind, and kind, generous heart. She is Jon’s beloved angel, friend and confidant in this life and beyond.

At Janet’s request, there will be no planned service or memorial. May you gather among yourselves in joyous celebration of her life. You may give to a charity of your choice but be sure to do something good in her memory. We thank you.
