Joan M. Young February 16, 1943 - October 27, 2023

Joan M. Young, 80, of Macungie, passed away Friday, October 27, 2023 at LVHN-Cedar Crest Campus. Born in 1943, Joan was the daughter of the late John H. “Harry” and Catherine (DeSwann) Woltemate. She was the wife of Ronald J. Young, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage. Joan was a longtime member of St. Thomas More R.C.C. in Allentown, PA. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, and golfing. Above all, she loved spending her summers in Avalon, NJ with her family and friends.

In addition to Ronald, Joan is survived by her children, Kathlene M. Fitzgerald (Daniel), Carolyn M. Young, Daniel P. Young, grandchildren, Tyler, Nicolas, Daniella, and Mason. She was predeceased by her 3 brothers, Jack, Joseph, and Gerard Woltemate.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 2, 2023 at St. Thomas More, R.C.C. 1040 Flexer Ave, Allentown, PA 18103 at 11:00 AM. A calling hour will be held prior to mass from 10-11. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
