John A. Kerrigan, Sr. March 23, 1931 - February 8, 2021
John A. Kerrigan, Sr., 89, of Allentown, passed away Monday, February 8, 2021 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of the late Mildred I. (Trexler) Kerrigan with whom he shared 69 loving years of marriage. Born in Sayre, PA, he was a son of the late John A. and Bertha M. (Benner) Kerrigan. John was a police officer for the City of Allentown for 42 years before retiring. In his spare time, he did upholstering. He was a member of the Cathedral Church of St. Catharine of Siena, Allentown. John was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was a member of the Mercantile Club, Emmaus and the Allentown Senior Citizens Center where he enjoyed shooting pool. John was an avid reader, loved to travel, go camping and canoeing. John truly was a family man and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Survivors: Sons, Keith D., Sr. and wife, Janice A., Bangor, Glenn S. and wife, Sandra K., Bangor, John A., Jr. and wife, Linda G., Summerville, SC; daughters, Debra A. Boudwin and husband, Robert M., Donna M. Repasch and husband, Thomas E., Allentown; brother, James and wife, Shirley, Allentown; sister, Junita Kerrigan, Miami, FL; 17 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son, John Charles, granddaughter, Jennifer L. Araujo, brothers, Lawrence and Russell and sisters, Sara Trapp and Mary Trapp.
Services: Family and friends may call from 9:00 – 10:00 A.M. Tuesday in the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc. 274 N. Krocks Rd. Due to the current pandemic funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Whitehall. (www.stephensfuneral.com)
