John F. “Cotton” Breshock July 2, 1931 - March 9, 2018

John F. “Cotton” Breshock, 86, of Macungie, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018, peacefully at the Lehigh Valley Hospital with his family by his side.  He was the beloved husband of Anna (DiBonifazio) Breshock celebrating 56 years of marriage together.  John was born in Beaver Meadows, PA, a son of the late Nicholas and Mary (Polchin) Breshock.  He graduated from West Hazleton High School in 1949. John worked as an assembler for Mack Trucks for 30 years before retiring from the Macungie Plant in 1993. Prior, he worked for the Baran Ford Garage, Tamaqua and the Schultz Tire Company, Hazleton.  John faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He and his wife were founding parishioners of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Allentown. John was devoted to his family, his country, his church and prayed every day. He loved doing things for others. John enjoyed the simple things in life but received the most pleasure spending time fishing and playing cards with his grandchildren, Cameron and McKenzie.

Survivors: Wife; daughter, Martie A. and her husband Christopher W. Haller of Macungie; grandchildren, Cameron and McKenzie; siblings, Raymond and his wife Donna of Indiana, Bernard and his wife Patricia of Hazleton and Mary Zeleznock of Weatherly.  He was predeceased by his siblings, Nicholas Breshock, Jr., Agnes Salko and Joseph Breshock.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 P.M. Friday in the St. Thomas More Catholic Church 1040 Flexer Avenue, Allentown. A calling hour will be held from noon until 1:00 P.M. Friday in the church.  Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc. www.stephensfuneral.com.
