John F. Kegley January 2, 1948 - January 17, 2026

John Frederick Kegley, 78, of Upper Macungie Township, passed away at home surrounded by family on January 17, 2026. He was the husband of Laurel A. (Keeler) Kegley to whom he was married 54 years. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, on January 2, 1948, he was the son of the late Frederick and Doris (Peterson) Kegley.

John, a long-time member of Asbury United Methodist Church (Allentown, PA), served in various roles within the church and was a Cub Scout Leader for several years. Of his many interests and hobbies, he’ll best be remembered for his love of model railroads, playing the drums, and his passion for country music. An accountant who retired from Sappi North America in 2013, John often generously lent his skills to friends and community members scratching their heads during tax season.

John will be remembered for his quiet strength, steadfast faith and ability to make all he met feel important and understood.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Jonathan (late husband of Lori Selgrath) and brother, William Kegley.

In addition to his loving wife, Laurel, John is survived by two daughters: Karen (Ben Tizer) and Diana (David Kelly); 10 grandchildren: Juliet, Gemma and Eva Tizer; Jayden, Hope, Bella and Nola Kelly; and Ayden, Ella and Alayna Kegley; sister, Carol (Frank Dox) and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Asbury United Methodist Church 1533 Springhouse Road, Allentown.
