John F. Shucavage, Jr. February 12, 1938 - September 28, 2021
John F. Shucavage, Jr., 83, our beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed peacefully on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, surrounded by the comfort of his family. He was the loving and devoted husband of his wife, Barbara (Kurinec) and they celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary this past November. Born in Tamaqua, he proudly served in the special forces of the United States Army during the Cuban missile crisis. John graduated from Tamaqua High School and attended Stevens Trade School which began his 42-year career at Honeywell and then PPL as a planner analyst. He was a parishioner of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Allentown, where he was a lead usher, a member of M.O.S.T and the Knights of Columbus. Following retirement, John especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman, loved to laugh and enjoyed a good joke. Survivors: wife; sons and wives, John and Lisa, Shawn and Corinne, Joel and Megan; grandchildren, Erik, Rachel, Shane, Grace, Ella, and Logan. John’s family will continue to love him and celebrate his life. His memory will live on forever. Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 9:30 AM Saturday in church, 1040 Flexer Ave. Call 9 AM until Mass. Interment will be private. Arrangements entrusted to STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME, INC.
