John M. Sokol August 13, 1933 - October 8, 2017

John M. “Jack” Sokol, 84, of Allentown, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, October 8, 2017.   He was the husband of the late Mary Ellen (Dinan) Sokol.  Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Andrew and Nell (Gilis) Sokol.  He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars and earned the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.  After retiring from a 20 year military career, Jack was employed as a track supervisor for 25 years at Conrail and more recently, in the cheese department at Wegmans, Allentown.  A member of St. Thomas More Church, he enjoyed golfing and spending time with family.  Survivors: daughter, Jacqueline J. Hetman and husband, Tony, Breinigsville; grandsons, Alex, Nick; brother, Robert A. and wife, Linda, Lake Worth FL.  Services: Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas More Church, 12:00 PM Wednesday, 1040 Flexer Ave.  Call 11:00 AM until Mass and 7:00 – 8:30 PM Tuesday at STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME, INC.  274 N.
