Joseph J. Richter October 16, 1953 - October 17, 2025

Joseph J. Richter, 72, of Northampton, passed away on Friday, October, 17, 2025 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg Campus. Born October 16, 1953, he was the son of the late Joseph E. and Mary A. (Grabarits) Richter. He was the husband of Nancy L. (Diener) Richter, whom he married at Churchill Downs Racetrack in Louisville, KY the day before the Kentucky Derby in 1998.

Joe worked for many years at Keystone Cement Company before retiring in 2012.  He was a long-time member at the American Legion post #353, and a life member at The Hungarian Club, Northampton, PA. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching sports, horse racing, spending time with family, or enjoying a drink with friends. He was also an avid golfer and earned both a hole-in-one and an albatross during his life.

In addition to his wife Nancy, Joe was a stepfather to Andy Wagner (Carolyn), El Cajon, CA, a brother to Nadine Hartzell (Frank) Indian Rocks Beach, FL, and Michael Richter, Allentown, PA. granddaughters Charlene and Jacqueline, nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held at the family’s convenience. Heintzelman-Stephens Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
