Joseph L. Gregory June 11, 1928 - May 2, 2025

Joseph L. Gregory, 96, of Allentown, passed away peacefully at the Lehigh Valley Hospital on May 2, 2025, at Cedar Crest Campus. Born in 1928, in Ironwood, MI, he was the son of the late Anthony and Frances (Severence) Gregory. He was the husband of the late Marie Renee (Comeau) Gregory, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage. Joseph worked for both Chevrolet and the Ford Motor Company, prior to enlisting in the United States Army during the Korean War. After the war, Joseph played football on scholarship, and eventually graduating from North Dakota State University. After graduation, he worked at the Fort Berthold Reservation where he was a teacher and coached football and basketball. Joseph then worked as a scholarship officer and education specialist for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in New Town, ND for 24 years. A few years after retirement he and his wife moved to Canton, TX to be near his son, Michael and in 2019 moved to Country Meadows in Allentown to be near his daughter Marsha. Joseph was an avid golfer, enjoyed listening to music, and a 50+ year member of the American Legion. He was also a life-long devout Catholic, and a member of St. Thomas More, R.C.C., Allentown, PA.

Joseph is survived by his daughters, Marsha Chowdhury (Naser) and Diane M. Gregory, brothers John Gregory (Kitty), and Gerald Gregory, sisters, Marion Eplett, and Margaret Johnson (Robert), grandchildren, Sabrina Mansur, Tara Fulton, Sergio Gregory, Krista Gregory, and Jordan Gregory, great-grandchildren Kieran, Amari, and Noah Mansur, Luca Fulton, and Hawk Fetzer. He was predeceased by his son, Michael Gregory, his siblings, Mitzi Aimar, Kathleen Goodfellow, Thomas Gregory, and James Gregory.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, May 12, 2025 at St. Thomas More, R.C.C., 1040 Flexer Ave, Allentown, PA, at 11:00 AM. A calling hour will be held from 10:00-10:45, with a brief rosary service beginning at 10:45, prior to mass.
