Lamont C. “Monty” Wernett January 2, 1941 - July 28, 2025
Lamont C. “Monty” Wernett, 84, of Quakertown passed away Monday, July 28, 2025 in his home. He was the husband of Bonita L. (Kline) Wernett to whom he was married 48 years. Born in Allentown on January 2, 1941, Monty was the son of the late Lavern C. and Pauline E. (Sefing) Wernett. As a tank driver and Embassy Guard in Germany, he faithfully and honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps during a peacetime era. Monty owned and operated the Sunrise Pig Farm in Quakertown for many years. Post his formal retirement, he worked at Armada Pole Buildings, LLC in Mohnton for several years. He was a former member of the Christian Business Men and an active member of Locust Valley Chapel, Coopersburg.
Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Bonnie; daughter, Christine “Tish” Wernett of Florida; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; predeceased by brother, Lavern L. Wernett.
Service: A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Locust Valley Chapel, 5963 Locust Valley Road Coopersburg. Family and friends may pay their respects from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Saturday, in the church. Interment with military honors will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery, Allentown. The Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., Allentown is in charge of arrangements.
