Larry A. Ritter November 19, 1931 - June 22, 2018

Larry Alan Ritter, a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday, June 22, 2018. Larry was the husband of the late Mary Jane (Shafer) Ritter for 65 years. Born on November 19, 1931, at home in Allentown to Harvey A. and Irene E.(Eck)Ritter, Larry was the 3rd of 4 children. He attended Allentown High School and Penn State University (Kutztown freshman year). He served in Germany during the Korean War in the Army’s Counter Intelligence Corp (1950-1952). In partnership with his brothers, he owned Ruhe Oldsmobile-Pontiac, working there 55 years. He was a member of the Sertoma Club, a past board member of the Lehigh County Historical Society, a member of the Honorary First Defenders, member of AACA, the Ontelaunee Car Club and the Lehigh County Senior Center. Larry was an active member of Nativity Lutheran Church. He loved to ski, travel, show and care for his antique cars, take care of his yard and spend time with family and friends.
Larry is survived by his daughters Marla R. Shreve(Mark), Jan R. Wills and Leah A. Ritter and his brother Ronald. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren (Seth Shreve, Carrie Entsminger (Keenan), Henry Donald Wills, III (Jill), Meghan Lopus (Justin) and Laura Wills; and 8 great grandchildren Emmett, Jane Perry Hank, Rowan, Luke, Reese, Millie and Merritt. He was preceded in death by his sister Lois E. Morrissey and brother Dale E. Ritter.
Services: 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 4, 2018 in the Nativity Lutheran Church 4004 Tilghman St. Allentown. Call 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Saturday in the church. Arrangements by Stephens Funeral Home, Inc. www.stephensfuneral.com.
