Lavinia Eichorn October 28, 1929 - September 3, 2021

Bradenton, Florida – Lavinia Faith Fryling Eichorn-Bailey passed away on September 3, 2021 in Bradenton, Florida. Lavinia was the beloved mother of four children, grandmother of 11, and great-grandmother of 8. She was born in Coopersburg, PA on October 28, 1929, to Lillian (Miller) Fryling and Paul Fryling, and was the widow of George Eichorn, Jr., of Allentown, PA and Donald Bailey of Bradenton, FL. Her brother, Ralph Fryling, preceded her in death. Lavinia attended Cedar Crest College and graduated from the Allentown Business School. She retired as an officer of Merchants National Bank in Allentown, PA at the age of 65 and a few years later moved permanently to Bradenton, Florida.
Lavinia is survived by her four children; Deborah Eichorn Kauffman (husband, the Reverend Stephen), Mark Eichorn, The Reverend Dr. Christian Eichorn (wife, Pamela), and Brenda Eichorn Lakis (husband, Michael), as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lavinia was a life-long church member, for many years at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Allentown, PA, and then for over 25 years at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Holmes Beach, FL. She actively participated in the choir, taught Sunday School, served as a Eucharistic Minister, volunteered in the office, and chaired the Caring Board.
Lavinia loved music and was an accomplished singer. When she was 15 she was accepted to sing soprano with the prestigious Bach Choir of Bethlehem, PA. She studied dance for 11 years and at one time considered becoming a professional. She was an enthusiastic cruiser and visited many ports of call all over the world. She was a past member of the Guild of the Asolo Repertory Theatre in Sarasota, FL.
A Celebration of Lavinia’s Life will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 2:00PM at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Holmes Beach, FL, and Interment will be in Coopersburg, PA at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Music Fund of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Holmes Beach, FL.
