Leo Tetenes May 22, 1933 - February 22, 2026

Leo Tetenes, 92, of Riverton Senior Living, formerly of Charlotteville, NY, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026. He was the husband of Rita (Levy) Tetenes. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in September 2025. Born in Manhattan, NY, he was a son of the late Alex and Bertha (Wetzel) Tetenes. Leo was a US Army veteran, serving as a Medic in the Korean War.

Leo was a great storyteller who loved kids, cooking, eating, and really enjoyed living – he loved life. He was a true “Gentleman”, who loved his scotch and cigars. Leo was always well-dressed and wore his Fedora everywhere. He loved listening to classical music and was an avid piano player of classical music. Leo also loved Frank Sinatra music and knew the words to all of Sinatra’s songs.

Leo is survived by his wife, Rita; Son, Evan Kest and his wife Michele of Roxbury, NJ; Son-in-Law, Robert Fortois of East Stroudsburg, PA; Grandchildren, Rachel, Jessica, Marisa, Robert, Julia; Great-granddaughter, Aubrey; Sisters, Marina and Bertha. Leo was predeceased by his daughter, Debra Fortois, his granddaughter, Sarah and his brothers Jack, Gerry and George.
