Leroy H. Sollenberger April 6, 1945 - August 21, 2024
Leroy H. Sollenberger, 79, of Breinigsville passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Arden Courts after a difficult journey with Alzheimer’s dementia. He was the husband of Mary Jane (Faus) Sollenberger. They celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary last May. He was born in Lancaster, a son of the late J. Ivan and Emma (Huber) Sollenberger. Leroy was a graduate of the Solanco High School Class of 1963. He received an associate degree in accounting from Churchman’s Business School, Easton. He was employed by Hackman’s Bible Book Store and Air Products before starting his own financial planning firm in 1984. He was later joined by his children and continued working until he retired. He was a faithful member of Faith Church, Trexlertown. Leroy enjoyed camping and never lost his love of farming or his cherished John Deere tractor. He loved helping people and he founded the men’s “Do Nothing” breakfast. His greatest joy was watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A special thanks to the staff at Arden Courts for their kind and compassionate care for Leroy and his family.
Survivors: Loving wife; daughter, Wendy S. David and her husband Anthony of Breinigsville; son, Andrew T. Sollenberger and his wife Mary of Macungie; five grandchildren, Alyssa (Gary), Tyler (Brittany), Steven (Kodi), Jacob and Sofia; five great-grandchildren, Lylah, Connor, Hayden, Mackenzie and Kolter; siblings, Glenn Sollenberger and his wife Lois of Shippensburg, Doris Dellinger of York, PA, Esther Zimmerman and her husband Roy of Lititz; sisters-in-laws, Maddie Sollenberger of Litiz and Betty Sollenberger of Quarryville, PA. He was pre-deceased by his brothers Wilbur and Parke Sollenberger.
Services: A celebration of Leroy’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 27th in the Faith Church 6528 Hamilton Boulevard, Allentown. Friends and family may call from 9:30 – 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday in the church. Interment will be private. Arrangements by Stephens Funeral Home, Inc. www.stephensfuneral.com.
