Louise M. Schermerhorn March 14, 1926 - July 4, 2018

Louise M. Schermerhorn, 92, a resident of LutherCrest and formerly of Allentown, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Blvd. She was the wife of Richard S. Schermerhorn. They would have celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary next week. Born in Lehighton, she was a daughter of the late Lewis E. and Anna F. (Kleckner) Jones. Louise was a graduate of the Temple School of Nursing, Class of 1946. She worked as a registered nurse for 36 years before retiring in 1982. Locally, she worked at Sacred Heart and Allentown General Hospital. She was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Allentown for over 65 years. Louise enjoyed traveling and was an active member of several local organizations.

Survivors: Husband, Richard; Children: Richard Schermerhorn and his wife Susan of Selbyville, DE, Nancy Moats and her husband Simeon of Vienna, VA, Jane Eby and her husband Glenn of Ft. Myers, FL, David Schermerhorn of Tobyhanna, Carol Schermerhorn of Ambler; Grandchildren: 12; Great-grandchildren: 11. Louise is also survived by nieces and nephews and was predeceased by a daughter Diane Bates in 2013. She was also predeceased by her brother Thomas Jones and by sisters Jeanne Furman and Margie Rehrig.
