Martin D. Nichol August 3, 1939 - October 3, 2024

Martin D. Nichol, 85, of Allentown, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024, in the In-Patient Hospice Unit of L.V. Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Jeanette (Menges) Nichol. They celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary in April 2024. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Elsie L. (Steckel) and Earl F. Nichol, Sr. Martin was a graduate of Allentown H.S. and was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War era. He was an electrician at Stroh Brewery for 29 years before retiring. Martin was a very active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Allentown throughout his entire life. He was a member of the first confirmation class to be confirmed in the church. He served as a member of the finance team and was an usher. Martin coached the volleyball team and coordinated the Friday night dances at the church. Marty, a.k.a. “The Boss” was a die-hard Phillies and Eagles fan.

Survivors: Wife, Jeanette; Son: Scott M. Nichol and his partner Kaitlin L. Fritz of Allentown; Daughter: Jennifer L. Kacsur and her husband Chris of Alburtis; Grandsons: Nolan L. Kacsur and his companion Alyson Miller, Braden N. Kacsur. Martin was predeceased by his 6 siblings.
