Matthew Besz August 26, 1968 - June 22, 2025

Matthew Besz, 56, of Kempton, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2025, in L.V. Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Tammy L. (Henry) Besz. They would have celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary in August 2025. Born in Allentown, he was a son of Stephen and Diane (Dougherty) Besz of Coplay, formerly of Whitehall. Matthew was a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School, LCCC and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University. He was a Professional Engineer and worked for PPL the past 15 years. Previously, Matthew worked for Lucent. He also had a Government Patent for cell phone design while working at Lucent. Matthew was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church, Orefield. He enjoyed playing ice hockey, snowboarding, hunting and fishing. Matthew was involved with his son Zach’s soccer team. Matthew loved spending time with his friends and family, especially going to the beach and playing mini-golf with his family.

Besz; Parents: Stephen and Diane; Brother: Jason Besz and his fiancé Erin McIntosh of Bethlehem Township; Sister: Jennifer Peden and her husband Ronnie of Sanatoga, PA; Sister-in-Law: Ali Henry of Homer City, PA; Nieces and nephew: Kylie Besz, Gabriel Peden, Ava Peden.

Services: Funeral Mass at 10:30 am Friday, June 27, 2025, St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1879 Applewood Drive, Orefield 18069. There will be a visitation from 9:30 – 10:30 am Friday in the church. Arrangements by Stephens Funeral Home, Inc. www.stephensfuneral.com.
