Matthew J. Shafer January 4, 1976 - July 21, 2021

Matthew J. Shafer, 45, of Allentown, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021, unexpectedly in his home. He was the husband of Nicole M. (Metzger) Shafer.  They would have celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary this September. Matt was born in Easton a son of Floyd M. and Rosemary (Shivo) Shafer of Williams Township. He was a graduate of Wilson High School Class of 1994, where he was a member of the marching band and cross-country team. He received his degree in mechanical engineering from Penn State University.  Matt was employed at Crayola as a second shift supervisor. He adored his two boys and never missed an opportunity to teach them something new. Together, they enjoyed gardening, science experiments, and video games. His chef skills were second to none and there’s nothing Matt enjoyed more than cooking for Nicole. A real thrill seeker, Matt loved sky diving, jet skiing, and roller coasters.
