Melody K. Sanford February 24, 1949 - May 21, 2024

Melody K. “Sunny” Sanford of Lower Macungie Township passed away May 21, 2024. She was born on February 24, 1949, in Evansville, Indiana to parents Melvin Glisson and Lurah (Epperson) Pickford. She grew up in Columbia, SC and graduated from Dentsville HS. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Glenda Jones. She leaves behind her loving husband of nearly 50 years, Robert E. Sanford, daughters Courtney Worley (Boyd) of Whiteville, NC, Lea Sanford of New York, NY, grandsons, Tyler and Miles Worley, and two sisters, Gloria Dahlberg (Frank) of Beverly Hills, Florida and Gail Guy (Curt Barth) of Elgin, Illinois. Melody was a member of St. Thomas More Church, Allentown. She managed the St. Thomas More bookstore for many years. Melody loved her family, raising her girls, being a Mimi, and never met a dog that she didn’t like. She also enjoyed wildlife, especially the squirrels and chipmunks in her backyard. Melody never met a stranger and would make friends wherever she went. She will be greatly missed.

Services will be held at Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., 274 N. Krocks Road, Allentown, PA 18106 on Friday, May 24, 2024 with visitation starting at 12:30 and the service at 1:30. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
