Nancy Dolores Kellar Richter June 18, 1932 - March 6, 2023

Nancy Dolores Kellar Richter passed away peacefully at her home in Allentown, PA on March 6th. Born on June 18th, 1932, she was the daughter of the late William Lehrman and Bernice (Pohl).  Nancy’s ‘second mother’ was the late Carrie Lehrman. The family owned and operated Lehrman and Lehrman, creating custom window treatments, where Nancy worked for over 30 years.

Nancy is survived by her daughter Robin Kellar of Allentown and her son Robert Richter of Lambertville, NJ. She is predeceased by her husband Robert Kellar and her second husband Paul Richter. She is also predeceased by her son John Kellar and her daughter Jody Kellar.

Remarkably resilient, Nancy endured many losses in her life with dignity and grace. Known as “Nancy with the laughing face” (a lyric from a popular Frank Sinatra song) she cultivated many friendships dating back to her grade school years and made new friends wherever she went. She was greatly loved by all who knew her. For Nancy, laughter was the best medicine.

A member of Lehigh Valley Active Life, Nancy took great joy in playing cards and socializing with friends. An avid cook and baker, Nancy shared love through her culinary creations, which she enjoyed preparing for family and friends.

A lifelong resident of Allentown, Nancy was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and graduate of Allentown High School. She also worked at PP&L prior to marrying.

As a Freddy Mercury superfan, Nancy took delight in sharing his music and legend with everyone. She particularly enjoyed his opera Barcelona. Nancy felt a connection with Freddy’s energy and spirit, ever reminding us “We are the Champions, My Friends.”

The family would like to extend special thanks to Lehigh Valley Hospice and their incredible team (especially Rosa, Donna, Mary, and Al) and Seniors Helping Seniors (Susan and Joanne), all of whom gave Nancy outstanding care and became friends to her in the last year of her life.

Services are private. Arrangements by Stephens Funeral Home, Inc. www.stephensfuneral.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lehigh Valley Active Life or Peaceable Kingdom (where Nancy adopted her beloved dog Fiona). Alternatively, any act of kindness done in Nancy’s name would be appreciated and very much in line with her legacy.
