Nancy Moyer McClain May 16, 1950 - December 4, 2025

Nancy McClain, a vibrant and compassionate woman whose life was rooted in faith and God’s love, passed away surrounded by her family. A longtime member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church in Emmaus, Nancy lived out her faith through service, hospitality, and unwavering kindness.
Nancy dedicated her professional life to helping people grow, adapt, and thrive. She began her career as a home economics teacher, nurturing practical skills and confidence in her students. As a pastor’s wife, she extended that same love and guidance to her church community, offering support, hospitality, and a listening ear to all who needed it. Her deep commitment to serving others later led her into social work, where she became an advocate for individuals and families newly arriving in this country. She taught English as a Second Language, provided basic life-skills education, and walked alongside countless newcomers as they built new futures. Nancy also devoted herself to supporting seniors and their families through the aging process while working at Aging and Adult Services of Montgomery County, bringing patience, dignity, and understanding to every interaction.
A gifted creator and tireless volunteer, Nancy filled her free time with passions that brought joy to others. She was an exceptional seamstress and quilter, crafting everything from beautiful quilts to costumes for numerous theater productions. Her talents in the kitchen made her a beloved caterer for events of all kinds, where her food, like her presence made people feel at home. Nancy also gave generously of her time to many organizations, never hesitating to lend her skills or her hands wherever they were needed.
Nancy’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She leaves behind her loving husband, John; her son Steven (Denise) Moyer; her daughter Heather (Dan) Hetrick; and her cherished grandchildren Evan, Alexis, Maxwell, and Xavier. She is also survived by her devoted sisters, Jacqui (Dan) Sattler and Melanie Mumbauer. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Melanie and Jack Trilling; her sister, Susanna Trilling; her brother-in-law, Todd Mumbauer; and her son, Peter James Moyer.
Above all, Nancy lived a life grounded in faith, kindness, purpose, and service. She touched countless lives through her dedication, her creativity, and her unwavering belief in the goodness of people. Her legacy lives on in the communities she strengthened, the families she supported, and the many individuals whose lives were shaped by her care.
Nancy will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Nancy’s life will be announced in a few weeks. The Heintzelman-Stephens Funeral Home, P.C. have been entrusted with the arrangements. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at www.heintzelmanstephens.com.
