Norman L. Frey, Jr. February 8, 1975 - October 19, 2024

Norman L. Frey, Jr., 49, of Northampton, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born in 1975, he was the son of the late Norman L. Frey Sr. and Phyllis (Weber) Frey. Norman was a lifelong chef and had a great passion for cooking; his love language was food, and he took great joy in preparing dishes for others. He took great pride in his position as a chef for Country Meadows Independent Living Facility, where he took excellent care of his residents, many of whom became his friends.
Norman is known as a founding member and lead bongo player for the 1990’s alt rock band Shit Dogs. Norman also enjoyed any opportunity to be the smartest guy in the room and was an enthusiastic lifelong learner, who delighted in sharing his knowledge with others. Those who know Norman also know of his love of all things GI Joe, anime, and especially Bob’s Burgers. His sense of humor, kind heart, pranks, and mischievous smile will be missed by all who were blessed to know him.
Norman is survived by his sisters: January Sleiman, Karen Edmunds, Elizabeth “Biz” Frey, and Amanda Ellis; his brothers-in-law: Daniel Sleiman, Paul Boyer, and James Batdorf. He was a proud uncle to: Gabriel, Avery, and Xander Diaz, and Benjamin Sleiman. He is also survived by his beloved fur baby, Cyrano and predeceased by Cyrano’s sister, Roxanne.
A public memorial service will be held Friday, November 1, 2024, at 1:00pm at Country Meadows Retirement Community, 410 N Krocks Rd, Allentown, PA 18106. Stephens Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
